MCLEAN, Va., May 2 (UPI) -- The Civilian Solutions business unit at British company BAE Systems says it has added two longtime veterans of the FBI to support biometrics and forensics.

BAE says it has added former FBI laboratory assistant director Joe DiZinno, along with former FBI counterintelligence deputy assistant director John Slattery, to support the company's Civilian Solutions division with biometrics and forensics expertise.

Officials say DiZinno, while overseeing the FBI laboratory, led all forensic responses among other assignments. Slattery has more than 30-years of experience with national security investigations, counterespionage and counterintelligence work.

"The extensive background of these individuals positions BAE Systems as an industry leader in the biometrics and forensics industry and in national security programs," Thomas Sechler, BAE Systems Civilian Solutions vice president and general manager, said in a statement. "BAE Systems now has a first-class offering in the biometrics field and we look forward to continuing our work with the FBI as they focus their efforts to keep our country safe."
