WASHINGTON, April 29 (UPI) -- Northrop Grumman presented homeland security technologies at the Washington GovSec conference last week.

The company said in a statement that it focused on displaying a wide spectrum of its homeland security technologies and what it described as "solutions for public safety and first responders" at the 2008 Government Security Conference and Exposition that was held April 23-24 at the Washington Convention Center.

"At Northrop Grumman, our goal is to support our nation's public safety first responders and law enforcement with innovative, homeland security solutions that ensure the fastest and most effective response to our nation's security threats," said Jerry Buckwalter, Northrop Grumman's vice president of homeland security.

"Our systems integration expertise allows us to provide fully integrated solutions, allowing our nation's public safety agencies and emergency response personnel to work with complete information," Buckwalter said.

Northrop Grumman said it displayed its new Critical Incident Response System that integrates hardware and software to give combat commanders the capability to rapidly direct and react to emergency situations and rapidly changing circumstances.

The company said it also displayed its ANDROS Hazardous-Duty Robots: Remotec Hazardous-Duty Robots at the GovSec conference. ANDROS robotic unmanned ground vehicles are already operated around the world by military organizations, law enforcement agencies, nuclear facilities and research laboratories, Northrop Grumman said.
