SPRINGFIELD, Va., April 16 (UPI) -- Virginia-based Versar says it has been contracted to assist the U.S. government with professional management services in Iraq.
The contract, with a ceiling of $4.3 million, is for Versar to provide professional management and staff augmentation services in Iraq. The contact also includes construction management services.
Under the announced two-year deal awarded by an unnamed client, officials say Versar, an infrastructure program management company in the defense and homeland security sector, will provide specialty services including management, security, and strategic planning working with U.S. government officials.
"Versar's excellent reputation for construction management and professional services in Iraq have allowed our program management group to successfully win this contract with a new client," Ted Prociv, Versar president and chief executive officer, said in a statement. "We are excited about the opportunity to broaden our client base and begin working on strategic issues directly tied to the transition of power in Iraq."
