RESTON, Va., March 18 (UPI) -- Virginia-based engineering services contractor NCI Inc. announced it is part of the winning bid for the Army Test Engineering and Analysis Services contract.

A successor to the White Sands Missile Range program, the U.S. Army's TEAS contract was awarded to the ATAMIR-WSMR joint venture team of which NCI is a major subcontractor. If all the options are exercised, officials say the test engineering and analysis NCI subcontract has a potential value of $31 million.

"NCI is thrilled to have been awarded a role on the TEAS contract through the ATAMIR-WSMR joint venture," Terry Glasgow, NCI president and chief operating officer, said in a statement.

The original WSMR contract in 1997 was awarded to NCI. Under the new Army TEAS contract, NCI was not eligible to compete for the award as a prime contractor because of its small business classification. As part of the winning ATAMIR-WSMR team, NCI will continue to provide a range of test engineering and analysis services including software development among other requirements.

"This program win substantiates NCI's outstanding performance on the predecessor contract over the last 11 years and provides us with the opportunity to continue our longstanding relationship with this important U.S. Army customer."
