POMPANO , Fla., Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Florida-based Point Blank Solutions Inc. announced it has partnered with G2 Consulting to market a line of electroshock weapon protection systems.
Point Blank is a protective body armor developer for the U.S. military and government agencies among others. G2 Consulting is the developer of the trademarked electroshock ThorShield technology. The two companies plan to integrate G2 Consulting's ThorShield with Point Blank's body armor products to address the growing safety concerns in protecting government and law enforcement agencies from the use of illegal stun guns.
"We continue to develop and deliver the most advanced protective gear in the world," Larry Ellis, Point Blank president and chief executive officer, said in a statement. "Threats against our law enforcement officers are constantly changing. The very devices proven to be valuable to those on the front lines are ending up in the hands of criminals and used against them. This exclusive agreement provides us with product lines that meet those threats and should open up new channels for growth."
"ThorShield works by providing a highly conductive specialized layer of fabric that ensures the electric current discharged from the weapon flows through the lining rather than the body. The protective material can be applied to officers' garments and equipment such as body armor, shirts, jackets, training suits, gloves, and hats," the release said.
