Telos is an information technology solutions provider for the U.S. Defense Department among other government agencies. The company announced former director of the Defense Manpower Data Center, Robert Brandewie, has been named to the senior vice president of identity and security solutions job.

"Robbie's previous professional experience and leadership skills will be great assets to the Telos identity management team," John Wood, Telos chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement. Officials say Brandewie, also the former public sector solutions group vice president for ActivIdentity Corp., will direct the Telos' efforts in "assisting government organizations in effectively meeting increased security challenges with innovative services and software solutions," the release said.

As director of the DMDC, Brandewie was an architect of the Defense Department's common access smart card system among other personnel security initiatives.
