PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla., Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Florida-based National Safety Commission announced the appointment of a new executive director of highway safety.
TNSC is a subsidiary of Strategic Interactive Holdings Corp. The company operates Internet-based driving safety courses among other traffic safety initiatives. TNSC named former director of the Florida Highway Patrol, Chris Knight, as the company's new executive director of highway safety.
"We are extremely pleased that Chris Knight has elected to join our team, bringing his remarkable and widely respected law enforcement credentials," TNSC President and Chief Executive Officer Ken Underwood said in a statement. "With his years of experience leading the 1,800 sworn Florida Highway Patrol personnel protecting Florida's roadways, he brings a wealth of public safety knowledge to the National Safety Commission and shares our core mission to promoting highway safety."
Officials say the 26-year veteran of the Florida Highway Patrol has served as the chief of the Florida Highway Patrol Training Academy and also as its director. Additionally, Knight is a FBI Academy graduate and member the Florida Sheriff's Association and the International Association of Police Chiefs among other public safety organizations.
