SPRINGFIELD, Va., Jan. 10 (UPI) -- The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced it has contracted Virginia-based Versar Inc. to update a facilities master plan.

Working through the Army Corps of Engineers Norfolk District, NOAA officials awarded the $626,000 task order for Versar to update the facilities master plan at Island Command Data Acquisition Station at Wallops Island, Va.

"The award of this follow up task order clearly demonstrates NOAA's confidence in the quality of Versar's work products," Ted Prociv, Versar president and chief executive officer, said in a statement. "In addition, it follows our tradition of customer satisfaction resulting in a major portion of our revenues from repeat customers. Focusing on the country's infrastructure, federal, state, private and international, is the basis of our efforts to grow Versar."

Versar is a defense programs, environmental health and safety and infrastructure revitalization firm. Under the contract officials say Versar will work with Colorado-based HB&A, which originally drafted the Island Command Data Acquisition Station facilities master plan.
