SAIC picks new security executives

SAN DIEGO, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- U.S.-based Science Applications International Corp. has chosen two new senior security area executives.

The company said in a statement earlier this month that it had "appointed two key strategic account executives. Joe DeFrancisco -- lieutenant general, U.S. Army, retired -- and Bill Carroll, a longtime employee and leader within the Immigration and Naturalization Service --INS -- are the Army and Homeland Security strategic account executives respectively."

"DeFrancisco will serve as SAIC's Army strategic account executive. He joins SAIC after a 34-year career in the U.S. Army, followed by eight years in private industry with a number of defense firms including Lockheed Martin where he was vice president of Army Systems," the company said.

"Carroll, SAIC's new Homeland Security strategic account executive, spent more than 26 years in INS -- now a part of Department of Homeland Security -- leadership roles, culminating in a tour as director of the Washington District Office. He also served for eight years, providing expertise in the homeland security and law enforcement industry," SAIC said.

"SAIC is fortunate to have the collective talents of Joe DeFrancisco and Bill Carroll, who serve in key strategic roles to provide awareness of our U.S. Army and Homeland Security customer priorities, trends, concerns and opportunities," said Ken Dahlberg, SAIC chairman and chief executive officer. "They will work closely with our business units across the corporation and serve as direct representatives to their respective customers."
