Comtech contracted for RF technologies

MELVILLE, N.Y., Dec. 19 (UPI) -- New York-based Comtech PST Corp. announced it has been contracted to supply a U.S. defense contractor with its radio frequency microwave amplifier technologies.

Comtech PST is a subsidiary of Comtech Telecommunications Corp. The company announced an undisclosed defense contractor has awarded Comtech a $3.4 million contract for its broadband, high power RF microwave amplifier systems.

"This award continues to highlight Comtech PST's industry-leading position as a supplier of broadband, high power amplifier systems for communications jamming applications," Fred Kornberg, Comtech Telecommunications president and chief executive officer, said in a statement. "The demanding nature of these applications requires the high quality and innovative design of Comtech's amplifier products, and is yet another example of how Comtech's products assist the U.S. military in fulfilling mission critical requirements."

Officials say the RF microwave amplifier systems provide for broad frequency coverage for use in defense, high power instrumentation and satellite communications applications among others.
