Officials say the CSC team will include Georgia-based C4 Planning Solutions LLC and Smartronix Inc. based in Virginia.

"We are honored that the Navy continues to count on us to apply our domain expertise to help improve performance, increase security and reduce costs," James Sheaffer, CSC North American Public Sector business unit president, said in a statement. "The CARS TF program is significant to the NETWARCOM's effort to drive the transition to enterprise networks, and CSC's experience will help ensure sound operational results for the Navy."

Work on the contract includes improving the Navy's IT security and systems interoperability, reducing its land-based IT infrastructure among other tasks including project management of "asset discovery and configuration, systems architecture, and system capacity and availability as they apply to the Navy and Marine Corps Intranet," the release said.
