LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Arkansas-based Alltel Wireless announced a new tool to assist emergency response officials with technology to better assess potential threats.
Alltel Wireless announced plans to offer California-based Alluviam's HazMasterG3, a terrorism and emergency response application technology that provides a decision support system and details on more than 118,000 chemical, biological and radiological agents, trade names and explosives.
Alltel Wireless is offering the Alluviam technology so that public safety officials, including law enforcement, bomb squads and homeland security officers, have access to the HazMasterG3 tool to assist in their decision-making.
“Alltel Wireless recognizes the role that a wireless device can play in assisting public safety agencies across the country,” Dave Maddox, director of advanced data solutions for Alltel Wireless, said in a statement. “We are proud to offer HazMasterG3 on select phones, as it has the potential to not only help law enforcement and emergency responders identify threats, but the application can also provide details needed to help save lives.”
Alluviam earned certification from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for the HazMasterG3 as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology.
“No other handheld or desktop solution can match HazMasterG3’s capabilities,” said Chris Miguel, Alluviam chief executive officer. “When used in conjunction with supported survey equipment, HazMasterG3 is the only decision support system that can identify an extremely broad range of radioactive isotopes.”
