"The JLTV program is a multi-service initiative for a family of future light tactical vehicles being developed as a joint system between the U.S. Army and the Marine Corps," BAE Systems said.

“Our teaming with International Military and Government, LLC will allow us to leverage our combined design strengths and production capabilities to build the next generation of light armored wheeled tactical vehicles,” said Linda Hudson, president of land & armaments, BAE Systems.

BAE Systems said it would also cooperate with IMG to explore "other global opportunities for success with militaries around the world."

BAE Systems describes itself as "the premier global defense and aerospace company, delivering a full range of products and services for air, land, and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, information technology solutions and customer support services. BAE Systems, with 96,000 employees worldwide, had 2006 sales that exceeded $27 billion on a pro forma basis, assuming BAE Systems had owned Armor Holdings Inc. for the whole of 2006."
