Northrop Grumman wins DHS contract

HERNDON, Va., Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Northrop Grumman said Thursday it was part of a team that would run immigration centers for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

"The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services -- USCIS -- an agency within the Department of Homeland Security, has selected a team that includes Northrop Grumman Corporation to provide large operations management services at the USCIS California and Vermont service centers," the company said in a statement.

"The three-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity -- ID/IQ -- contract has a total ceiling value of $225 million to the team, on which Northrop Grumman will be a subcontractor to Stanley, Inc. of Arlington, Va.," the company said.

"With this win, we are building on a trusted partnership that we've already established with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services," said Gregg Donley, vice president and general manager for Northrop Grumman Technical Services System Support Group.

"We're part of a dynamic and innovative team that is focused on providing best value to our customer through implementation of an integrated and seamless work-flow process starting at the Application Support Centers through the Service Centers," Donley said.

"With support to the Service Centers in data collection and data entry, we will be able to implement technology, management and quality solutions to leverage the synergistic interdependencies of people, process and content to improve USCIS customer operations," said Robert De Luca, Northrop Grumman program manager.

"Northrop Grumman brings a proven expertise of the processes, regulations and business drivers unique to the customer, and we look forward to continuing our USCIS relationship," De Luca said.

Northrop Grumman said the contract would increase its "support role in DHS's homeland security mission. The company operates 136 Citizenship and Immigration Service Application Support Centers in all 50 states, providing biometric capture services as part of U.S. citizenship applications and Green Card renewals."
