BAE names Dellinger as new M&P chief

HOUSTON, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- U.S. firm BAE Systems Tuesday announced a new head for its mobility and protection division.

"Dennis M. Dellinger has been named President of BAE Systems' Mobility & Protection Systems, a newly created line of business resulting from the completed acquisition of Armor Holdings, Inc. earlier this month," the company said in a statement.

"As president of Mobility & Protection Systems, Dellinger will be responsible for approximately 5,400 employees engaged in the production of trucks, individual war fighter protection gear, armor components for vehicles, and integrated seats and restraints," BAE Systems said.

"Recently BAE Systems’ Mobility & Protection Systems was awarded a $518.5 million prime contract to deliver 1,170 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles," it said.

“We are very pleased to have Denny leading the Mobility & Protection Systems portion of our business," said Linda Hudson, BAE Systems president of Land & Armaments. "The continuity and customer focus that Denny and his team provides will be key to our determination to deliver the best equipment possible on budget and schedule to our Armed Forces."

"We are excited to become a part of BAE Systems," said Dellinger. “At the end of the day, our business is about supporting the war fighter. It is our shared belief that we protect those who protect us, and it is this common goal that has motivated our team to deliver the best products in the world."

"Dellinger previously served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Armor Holdings Aerospace & Defense Group and as President of Stewart & Stevenson Tactical Vehicle Systems. In his new role as President of Mobility & Protection Systems, he will continue to focus his efforts on strengthening core customer relationships and growing future business opportunities," the statement said.
