--Search by air of lost plane in Peru is suspended--

LIMA, January 10 (UPI) - Bad weather conditions in the Chachapoyas area made impossible to continue the search by air of the Tans aircraft that disappeared yesterday with 46 passengers in the Amazon jungle.

Yet, a number of rescue teams headed by land to the zone where the aircraft is believed to be.

Meanwhile, in Lima, relatives await in anguish for an improvement in climate so they can fly to the Amazons' capital in search of news of their loved ones. A plane of Tans airways is prepared to translate the missing peoples' relatives to Chachapoyas.

According to Channel N, a first group of rescuers left today and a next is waiting for better weather conditions.

Peru minister of Interior, Gino Costa, informed that president Alejandro Toledo himself is coordinating efforts to find the missing aircraft. "Air Force units have been deployed in the zone. National Police has also received instructions to support rescue efforts. I have been in touch with the president, who has insisted that the situation must be confronted in the most swift and coordinated way", he said.
