Turkey mobilizes for EU offensive

ANKARA, Turkey, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Ankara on Friday rejected Former French President Valery Giscard d'Estaing's remarks that Turkey was not a European country and should be barred from joining the European Union. "Turkey's being part of Europe is an undeniable fact," a Foreign Ministry statement said.
