BRUSSELS, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Former French President Valery Giscard d'Estaing on Friday declared that Turkey was not a European country and that Turkish membership of the European Union could lead to the collapse of the 15-member bloc. Giscard d'Estaing told the newspaper Le Monde that including Turkey in European enlargement would be, "In my opinion, it would be the end of Europe."
