MEPs boost air passenger rights

BRUSSELS, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- The European Parliament Thursday voted to give statutory cash handouts of up to $600 to passengers whose flights are delayed, canceled or overbooked. The rules would apply to all carriers flying into the European Union, but not to package tourists -- who are already covered under existing legislation.
