Nobel Prize for Medicine awarded

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Americans Sydney Brenner and H. Robert Horvitz and Britain's John E. Sulston have been selected to receive the 2002 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine for their work concerning genetic regulation of organ development and programmed cell death, the Nobel Assembly announced Monday. The honor, which carries a cash award of about $1.1 million, will be presented Dec. 10.
