US Central Command may shift to Mideast

WASHINGTON, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- The U.S. military may permanently move the U.S. Central Command from its headquarters at MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, Fl., to Qatar, a small nation on the Persian Gulf, according to a senior administration official. Meanwhile, Central Command is preparing for a 600-person command post exercise in Qatar in November.
