Iran, Iraq in new war of words

Sept. 2, 2002 at 2:05 PM   |   Comments

TEHRAN, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi on Monday accused the Iraqi government of offering the biggest service to Israel by invading Kuwait in 1990 and starting a war with Iran in 1980. His remarks came after Iraqi Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan said that Iranians were "allies of Zionists."
