ALMATY, Kazakhstan, April 1 (UPI) -- A Kazakhstan opposition leader went on a hunger strike Monday, four days after seeking refuge in the French Embassy in Almaty because of government persecution. Galymzhan Zhakiyanov, a leader of the opposition group Democratic Choice, had called for democratic reforms and respect for human rights.
