VIENNA, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Austrian leaders Thursday attacked far-right politician Jörg Haider for using his annual Ash Wednesday speech in a beer hall to defend his controversial meeting this week with Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein -- a meeting that has prompted Washington to request a U.N. investigation. In his speech, Haider, a provincial governor, said his Baghdad trip was humanitarian.
