HONG KONG, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- A farmer in Sichuan province killed his doctor, three patients and himself in a suicide bomb attack at a hospital, according to Thursday's South China Morning Post.
The newspaper quoted police as saying the farmer, Bao Jihou and his doctor Li Mingsu died in the blast along with three others.
The official Xinhua news agency said 35 people were injured in the explosion at Chongqing Number Three People's Hospital on Nov. 14. It said five people were still in critical condition.
The newspaper quoted police as saying that Bao, 55, of Linshui county was diagnosed with a detached retina and Li had performed an operation but it had failed to restore Bao's vision.
Sichuan police said they had found evidence at Bao's home linking him to the blast. He reportedly left a note to his family that said he wanted to file a lawsuit against the doctor in a future life.
The newspaper reported that media was kept away from the scene and were prevented from reporting the event in the days following the explosion.
