Iraq opposition welcomes likely US strikes

TEHRAN, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- An Iraqi opposition group said Monday it ruled out the likelihood of any imminent attack against Iraq, but welcomed strikes targeting the country's "terrorist regime." The head of the Iran-based Islamic Revolution Supreme Assembly of Iraq, told UPI, "the Iraqi people would favor any (U.S.) attacks ... if they target the terrorist regime (of Saddam Hussein)."
