N. Alliance rejects Loya Jirga

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- The anti-Taliban Northern Alliance has rejected the return of former Afghan King Mohammed Zahir Shah and the holding of a loya jirga, or tribal council. Alliance spokesman, Abdullah Abdullah, said ousted Afghan President Burhanuddin Rabbani should be returned to power after the Taliban is toppled.
