Pentagon confirms special ops

WASHINGTON, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- The Pentagon Saturday publicly confirmed for the first time that U.S. Special Forces, such as Army Rangers are now operating in Afghanistan. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Richard Myers described in a press conference a mission Friday night that "attacked and destroyed command and control centers" of the Taliban, adding the forces "are now refitting and repositioning" for further operations.
