KHARTOUM, Sudan, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Sudanese President Omar al Bashir said Monday opposition leader Hassan al Turabi, head of the National Popular Conference, would be released. He was detained with other opposition members for nearly 10 months for concluding an alliance with southern separatist rebels and for meeting U.S. diplomats.
