WASHINGTON, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- The U.S. Energy Department's analytic service began its first full week without service Monday because of the partial government shutdown.
The U.S. federal government entered its third week of a partial shutdown Monday because of bipartisan rancor over the budget. The Treasury Department says it will exhaust its borrowing power Thursday.
The Energy Information Administration, which publishes everything from gasoline prices to refinery data, shut down Friday at 1 p.m. EDT.
"EIA is closed due to a lapse in appropriations," a message on its website reads. "EIA will not update its website until the agency reopens."
Platts, an energy division of publishing company McGraw Hill, said the shutdown impacts export applications for liquefied natural gas, the review of the Keystone XL oil pipeline and considerations for next year's renewable fuel standards.
The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement said its review of offshore oil and natural gas operations continues. Work at the Bureau of Land Management, which oversees onshore oil and gas production, is suspended.
