RUGBY, N.D., Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Oregon energy group Iberdrola Renewables announced it has completed the construction of a $300 million wind farm in North Dakota.

Iberdrola said it finished building the 71-turbine, 149-megawatt wind farm at a facility in Rugby, N.D.

Missouri River Energy Services purchases 40 MW of electricity from the Rugby wind farm. That is enough power to meet the energy demands of 11,000 subscribers to the regional utility.

Iberdrola said it now operates more than 3,500 MW of wind energy resources in the United States.

The company earlier this week announced it revised its power purchase agreement with a California-area public power utility.

Power from that contract comes from the High Wind Energy Center located in Solano County, Calif.
