HOUSTON, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- The acquisition of three intrastate natural gas liquid pipeline systems from Chevron expands the midstream infrastructure in Louisiana, executives said.
Houston company Enterprise Products Partners announced the purchase of three natural gas liquid pipelines from Chevron Midstream Pipelines LLC. The acquisition expands and extends the pipeline networks in South Louisiana, the company said.
Michael Creel, the president and chief executive officer for Enterprise, said the acquisition enhances infrastructure and access to a refining and petrochemical complex in Lake Charles, La.
"We are very pleased to work with Chevron to acquire these pipelines, which will also complement our ongoing expansion plans in South Louisiana," he added.
The three pipelines acquired extend 212 miles across the southern state from an origin point in Henry, La.
Enterprise has snatched up several pipelines in the southern United States as its utilization of shale gas deposits increases.
