EDF, Enel sign nuclear development deal

PARIS, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Electricite de France and Italy's Enel announced they signed an agreement to develop a nuclear joint venture and build nuclear reactors.

The first part of the agreement sets up a joint venture between EDF and Enel in which each company holds a 50 percent stake. The goal of the joint venture is to evaluate the feasibility of developing four European pressurized reactors in Italy, allowing EDF to participate in Italy's nuclear program.
