MOSCOW, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Top officials with the Ukrainian state-owned energy firm, Naftogaz, arrived in Moscow Tuesday to discuss a long-term gas deal with Gazprom.

Naftogaz chief Oleh Dubina plans to negotiate a 10-year gas supply contract with Alexei Miller, the head of energy giant Gazprom, RIA Novosti reported.

"I would like to sign a contract till 2019," Dubina said, adding he saw the deal coming to completion by the end of November.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko in October agreed to a version of the deal with her Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

A row between pro-Western Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko and Tymoshenko threatens to disrupt the national economy, with Tymoshenko in October describing her relations with the Kremlin as overlapping.

Ukraine, meanwhile, faces the possibility of receiving little oil from suppliers using major pipeline arteries in the Caspian region.
