LONDON, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- The British government announced it will work with two oil-rich Gulf nations to develop renewable energy.
During Prime Minister Gordon Brown's visit to Abu Dhabi with Energy and Climate Change Secretary Ed Miliband, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the United Kingdom and Masdar, the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Co., to develop renewable energy and low carbon technology.
The deal with Masdar follows the company's announcement that it is investing in the offshore London Array project.
A partnership also was struck as the pair traveled to Qatar. A new $500 million partnership between Qatar and the United Kingdom is aimed at helping British companies develop low carbon technology.
