Teen solves centuries-old math problem
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 22 (UPI) -- The Applied Materials and SunPower Corp. solar plant is the largest at a corporate facility in the country.
The two firms worked together to complete the 2.1-megawatt solar power system at the Applied Materials headquarters in Sunnyvale, Calif.
The system includes a 950 kilowatt SunPower PowerGuard installation and a 1.2 megawatt SunPower tracker installation on the roof of a parking facility.
Applied Materials said the system is projected to replace more than 2,700 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
