Turkey's Gul wants to help end Iran crisis

ISTANBUL, Turkey, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Turkish President Abdullah Gul said he wants a dialogue-based solution to solve Iran's nuclear issue.

Gul made his statement at a press conference with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who was visiting Istanbul, Alalam News reported.

Ahmadinejad agreed that dialogue is the best way to resolve Iran's nuclear issue. He also thanked Turkey and Gul for his diplomacy.

Gul said he thinks Turkey can help solve the issue and help Iran end the U.S.-led sanctions.

Turkey would also like to build nuclear plants to help provide the country with power, Gul said.
