TEHRAN, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- The deputy head of the International Atomic Energy Agency will visit Iran this week.

The talks scheduled for Thursday between Olli Heinonen of the IAEA and Iranian officials are part of a monitoring program, the Persian Journal reported.

The United Nations again has warned Tehran that if it does not respond positively to the offered nuclear incentives package, then additional sanctions could be applied.

The incentive package being offered to Iran includes the signing of a Non-Proliferation Treaty that would force Iran to abandon its uranium enrichment program in return for political and economic benefits.

Iranian officials repeatedly have refused to end their nuclear program, threatening violence if any forceful action is taken by the West.
