NEW DELHI, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- India and Denmark have signed an agreement to develop technology for new and renewable energy.
The agreement will establish a joint committee to identify areas of mutual interest for development of energy technologies, the New and Renewable Energy Ministry said Thursday.
The ministry said the two countries also signed an agreement to establish a bilateral joint commission for cooperation in all fields of mutual interest.
The agreements were signed on the sidelines of Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen's state visit to India. He is holding discussions with President Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the ministry said in a statement.
Both sides agreed to increase two-way trade to grow. Several Indian companies have a presence in Denmark in sectors such as IT, wind energy, biotechnology, port infrastructure, shipping sector and biotechnology, the statement said.
