"We are pleased to offer Eagle Ford producers safe, reliable and efficient pipeline service to the Texas Gulf Coast," Tom Bannigan, president of pipeline operations for Kinder Morgan, said in a statement.

The pipeline consists of 65 miles of new pipe and 113 miles of converted natural gas pipeline for deliveries to refineries, petrochemical plants and docks along the southern U.S. coast.

The company added the pipeline would eventually link to a processing facility that could handle another 100,000 bpd.

The pipeline is the latest in a series of networks to service southern U.S. refineries and production from the Eagle Ford shale play that has contributed to an overall rise in domestic oil production.

Production from Eagle Ford last year topped 30 million barrels.
