RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, July 5 (UPI) -- Saudi Arabian officials say a new gas field found in the eastern part of the country will boost production by 1,400 barrels per day.

Eng Ali Bin Ibrahim al-Nu'aymi, the minister of petroleum and mineral resources, said Wednesday the field was found 155 miles southeast of Riyadh.

The Saudi Press Agency reports Saudi Aramco discovered the gas field June 29 during well tests.

The field is expected to average 20 million cubic feet of gas.
