ASPEN, Colo., Feb. 18 (UPI) -- National Geographic's Diggers has uncovered a time capsule that contained among other things a Lisa mouse put in by Steve jobs at the Aspen International Design Conference in 1983.

After giving a talk at the conference, where he used the Lisa mouse to make his presentation, Jobs added the mouse to other items donated by the conference attendees in a time capsule called the Aspen Time Tube. Despite the inclusion of items from the conference attendees, the tube cam to be known as the Steve Jobs Time Capsule.

The original plan was to open the time capsule in 2000, but after a landscaping project the conference organizers could not determine its exact location. Until last year, when National Geographic's Diggers was tasked with the responsibility of finding it. They did find it last September and will feature the excavation of the tube on their show, which premieres February 25.

"We just freaked out," co-hot George Wyant told CNET last year about finding the tube. "We went crazy. Because I'd had a pit in my stomach all day, so it was like instant relief."

Tim Saylor, the other host of the show, said that items, including Jobs' mouse, came pouring out of the tube once they opened it. Among the contents of the tube were a six-pack of Balantine beer, a Moody Blues tape, and a Rubik's Cube. The tube did give off a moldy smell but some items, including the mouse, had been protected in plastic bags.
