June 24 (UPI) -- Amid a slew of recalls, Ford has reason to celebrate.

The motor company produced its 7-millionth Transit commercial van Monday in China.

Lined up end-to-end, the vans would reach from London to Sydney, Australia, and back again. The milestone was celebrated at the opening of a new Transit assembly plant in Nanchang, China. Ford President and CEO Alan Mulally was in attendance for the celebration.

The company expects to sell more than 400,000 of the vans per year by 2016.

Earlier this month, Ford issued a recall for more than 465,000 vehicles after a potential fuel leak was reported.
