PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Tesla head Elon Musk said the company's first all-electric crossover vehicle will start being delivered at the end of September with a price tag of $132,000.

Chief Executive Officer Musk said Wednesday customers will start receiving the Model X CUV deliveries Sept. 29. He also said customers will start being able to pre-order the Model 3 -- with a more modest cost of $35,000 -- in March.

Tesla's Model X will roll out of its Fremont, Calif., factory as the third car that the all-electric company has made.

The Signature Series of the Model X will have a price tag of $132,000, about $5,000 more than the Model S because of a larger size and more complex body.

The company originally scheduled manufacturing of the Model X for 2013, but the programs fell behind schedule.

Meanwhile, the company's Model 3 is its "smaller and lower-cost sedan" that will be put into production in approximately two years.

The look of the car along with the opportunity to pre-order it will both be unveiled in March. Production is also contingent on the completion of Tesla's battery manufacturing plant in Reno, Calif. The factory's output will be critical to keeping costs low for the Model 3.
