CUPERTINO, Calif., April 20 (UPI) -- Apple just released its Environmental Responsibility Report, and it highlights how the company hopes to help combat climate change.
"We don't want to debate climate change. We want to stop it," the early pages of the report read. "We've made real progress in reducing the impact of the things we control directly—our offices, retail stores, and products. But there's still a lot of work to be done to reduce the carbon footprint of our supply chain. And it's our responsibility to lead that effort."
According to The Verge, Apple's U.S. operations are already powered only using renewable energy, and it is using renewable energy for 87 percent of global operations. The company appears to be working to increase the use of renewable energy use in retail stores and shipping.
A new video that was released with the report highlights the more specific ways the company has focused on reducing the carbon footprint of its products.
