CUPERTINO, Calif., March 9 (UPI) -- Apple unveiled their new device the Watch Monday at an event in Cupertino to be a personal smart device to be worn on the wrist.

The Watch allows users to check their music, weather, heart rate and other information with just a glance.

It will include features like iMessage and Apple Pay, which are available on the iPhone. There will also be a built in speaker and microphone that will allow users to answer calls. People will be able to download apps and use the Internet on the Watch and manage daily tasks like viewing and organizing their calendar, using Apple Maps and GPS and sorting tickets and passes through the Passbook app.

The Watch communicates with the iPhone through Bluetooth and WiFi.

Digital touch enables users to connect with each other and send things like sketches, pings and even a heartbeat to other Watch users.

One of the most prominent features is the fitness tracker, which measures movement and steps during normal activity and helps track workouts during exercise. It reminds users to stand when sitting too long and records and suggests new activity goals per week.

The Watch's battery is said to last 18 hours before it needs to be recharged. The charger is magnetic and is placed on the back of the watch.

It will start at $349 with the Sport Watch, which will be available in two different sizes. It also comes in different materials including stainless steel and gold.

The Apple Watch Edition, which is made of solid gold, will start at $10,000 and will be available in select stores with a limited supply available.

It will be on display in stores so customers may experience the device for themselves.

Apple will begin accepting pre-orders for the Apple Watch on April 10 and will be available for purchase on April 24.

The new MacBook will be available in gold and will weigh just two pounds. Each key will have an individual led light and will be shaped in a "butterfly" design to make typing easier.
