SEATTLE, June 5 (UPI) -- Amazon is holding an event on June 18 where it is rumored that the company may launch its long-awaited smartphone, possibly with a 3D interface.

The online retailer released a teaser trailer on YouTube Wednesday that very sneakily has people looking at possible some kind of device, which is out of frame, calling it "impressive," "cool" and "awesome." Others marvel at how "it moved with me" and "it's very real life."

The people in the video seem to be swiveling a device and looking at it from different directions, which suggests that it could be the smartphone with a 3D interface. The invite page features the picture what looks like an Amazon-branded phone, and looks very similar to pictures leaked of the alleged 3D smartphone.

Bloomberg said that a source confirmed that the company will officially launch a smartphone later this month but could not confirm if it had any 3D technology in it.

It was rumored in April that Amazon was developing a smartphone that would have sensors on the front and back that would track a user's eye movements and display images seemingly in 3D. There have been other 3D-enabled phones in the market, such as the HTC Evo 3D, but none of them gained any traction.
