Winter weather is putting upward pressure on pricing. In addition, the dollar index, a pro-rated measure of the dollar against six major currencies, was near a six-week low, dropping 0.19 percent to 80.01.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil gained $2.61 to $102.91 per barrel. Reformulated blendstock gasoline prices added 3.55 cents to $2.8408 per gallon.
Heating oil prices picked up 2.88 cents to $3.1070 per gallon.
Natural gas added 35 cents to hit $5.56 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the national average price for a gallon of unleaded rose from Monday's $3.358 per gallon to $3.366, the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report said.
