Crude oil dips slightly but closes above $100 per barrel

Feb. 14, 2014 at 4:54 PM

NEW YORK, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- The price for a barrel of crude oil closed at $100.30 Friday on the New York Mercantile Exchange, down a nickel from the previous day's close.

Support came from an extended blast of winter weather in the Northeast and a drop in crude oil inventories for the week.

Gasoline prices added 3 cents to $2.805 a gallon.

Heating oil prices picked up 5 cents to $3.08 per gallon.

Natural gas added a penny to $4.574 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the national average price for a gallon of unleaded rose from Thursday's $3.327 per gallon to $3.335, the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report said.
