NEW YORK, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Crude oil hovered near $100 per barrel Monday in New York, near
the commodity's high for the year.
Crude oil added 23 cents on the New York Mercantile Exchange to reach $100.11 per barrel. Last week, West Texas Intermediate, light, sweet crude peaked at $100.46 per barrel with price pressure provided by harsh winter weather and concerns over North Sea supplies, Price Futures Group analyst Phil Flynn told the Wall Street Journal.
"We're kind of pulling back a little bit because some of those worst fears have eased a bit," he said.
Reformulated blendstock gasoline prices dropped 2.19 cents to $2.727 per gallon. Heating oil prices shed 5.34 cents to $2.9969 per gallon.
Natural gas dropped 19 cents to $4.568 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the national average price for a gallon of unleaded added 1 cent to $3.294 per gallon from Sunday's $3.284, the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report said.
